Partnership terms

What an institution gets for subscribing, and — more importantly — what it does not.

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Who these terms are for

These terms apply between Edutiers and an institution whose listing has been claimed and verified. They are business-to-business terms: consumer protection rules do not apply to them, and they sit alongside the general terms of use rather than replacing them.

Terms of use

What a partnership includes

A partnership unlocks presentation and tooling on your own listing. The exact set is on the pricing page and can change as the product develops; today it is:

  • a branded profile — banner, accent colour, gallery and a longer description
  • programme listings you maintain yourself, with provenance kept per field
  • open days and events shown on your profile
  • a spotlight line, and inclusion in the separately labelled featured partners block
  • the certificate and poster for your current tier, in printable form
  • the analytics panel for your own listing
  • assisted import of your own published material into your own listing
  • the partner mark beside your name in listings and on your profile

What a partnership never includes

This section is the point of the product, so it is the one written most plainly. Paying us buys presentation. It does not buy standing, and there is no arrangement, tier or price at which it does.

  • It never changes a score. Scores are computed from reviews arithmetically, and the calculation does not know whether an institution pays us.
  • It never changes a tier. A tier is a band on the score, and the bands are the same for everyone.
  • It never changes a position in a ranking, or the order results are returned in.
  • It never removes, hides or delays a review. Moderation is independent of billing, and a takedown request from a partner is decided exactly as one from anybody else.
  • It never hides a rated dimension. Every criterion a subject is scored on stays visible whether or not it flatters.
  • Featured placement is always in its own labelled block, never mixed into a ranking as though it were earned.

Right of reply

Every verified institution may publish one reply to each review about it, shown pinned beneath the review. This is free and is not part of a subscription: an institution that pays us nothing has exactly the same right to answer as one that pays us for everything. A reply is content like any other and is held to the same guidelines.

Fees and billing

Subscriptions are sold monthly or annually per institution, at the plan price for its education level, quoted excluding VAT. Annual billing is offered at a discount. VAT is added where it is due; a valid EU VAT number is reverse-charged and shown as such on the invoice. Prices can change with 60 days' notice, and a change never applies to a period already paid for.

During the launch offer a partnership is free and no payment details are asked for. When paid subscriptions begin, we will write to you first and you will have to choose to pay: nothing starts charging automatically at the end of a free period.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the portal, with no notice period and no reason. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the partnership runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and there is no partial refund for the remainder of that period. We can end a partnership too, and if we do so other than for a breach by you we refund the unused part of the period.

Using the certificate and the marks

The certificate, the tier badge and the partner mark are ours, licensed to you for as long as your partnership runs, for describing your own institution's own standing.

  • Show only your current tier, for your own institution, unaltered — no recolouring, cropping or redrawing.
  • If your tier changes, stop using material showing the old one within 30 days.
  • If the partnership ends, stop using the certificate and the partner mark within 30 days, in print as well as online.
  • Do not present a tier as an accreditation, an endorsement, a licence or an inspection result, and do not imply that Edutiers vouches for the institution.
  • Where a tier is quoted, say when it was awarded. A tier moves as reviews arrive, and a five-year-old letter presented as current is a misleading claim about a live number.

Term and termination

The partnership runs for the period you bought and renews for another unless cancelled. We can suspend or end it immediately for a serious breach — misusing the marks, publishing content that breaks the guidelines, soliciting or incentivising reviews, or trying to obtain a moderation outcome by referring to the subscription. Where we suspend, we say why and, unless the law prevents it, give you a chance to put it right.

What happens when a partnership ends

Partner content is hidden, not deleted. Your banner, gallery, spotlights and open days come off the public profile and the listing returns to its free form with the register facts and the reviews intact; the partner content is kept exactly as it was. If you subscribe again it is restored in one click, without re-entering anything.

Reviews, scores and tiers are untouched by any of this. They never depended on the subscription, which is the whole point.

What you publish

You are responsible for what you put on your listing: it must be accurate, it must be about your institution, and you must hold the rights to every image you upload — including permission from anybody recognisable in a photograph, which for photographs of pupils means the permission their guardians gave you. We can remove anything that breaches this, and you indemnify us against claims arising from material you supplied. Material you hand to the assisted import is read by a language-model provider acting for us and is not used to train anything. Nothing it proposes is published until you approve it line by line, and you remain responsible for what you approve.

Asking for reviews

You may tell your community that Edutiers exists and invite them to review you honestly. You may not offer anything in return, review your own institution, ask staff to, filter who is invited by how happy they are, or write reviews on somebody else's behalf. Where we find this, the affected reviews come down, the partnership can be ended without refund, and repeated abuse is noted on the public profile.

Liability

To the extent Dutch law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid in that period. Nothing here limits liability for intent, deliberate recklessness, or death or personal injury.

Which law applies

Dutch law governs these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. We will always try to settle a disagreement in writing first, and we answer every complaint with reasons.

Changes

We can change these terms with 60 days' notice by email to the address on your account. A change never applies retroactively to a period already paid for, and if you do not accept one you can cancel before it takes effect and be refunded the unused part of your period.
